Cecilia joined MOVE Texas in 2019, moving from her home state of Illinois. Her family has roots in Texas and Mexico and she’s happy to now call San Antonio her home. She has twelve years of experience in community engagement, program management and developing the next generation of leaders through service, education, and advocacy programs.
Her experience includes community organizing, developing and implementing programs, facilitating training, fostering practices that promote equity and increase engagement, and strategic planning. She’s previously organized around oil and gas issues in North Dakota, worked at a state university focusing on diversity initiatives with student organizations, and is a proud alumni of AmeriCorps NCCC and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) internship program.
In her personal time, she loves to explore central Texas and find places to run, ride her bike, and swim with her two dogs. Cecilia also loves to travel and has visited 16 counties! Mostly while backpacking solo.
